2008 Obama Ad on Gas Prices
At about :14 seconds he says, “I don’t take money from oil companies or Washington lobbyists.”
I just have to take the time to point out how utterly false that statement is.
We all remember the BP oil spill that took place in April of 2010. But what a lot of people don’t know, largely because the media refused to report on it, is that the Obama administration gave BP a free pass on the regulations that would have prevented the disaster. All of this comes shortly after he was elected president on a campaign that received thousands dollars in campaign contributions from BP:
During his time in the Senate and while running for president, Obama received a total of $77,051 from the oil giant and is the top recipient of BP PAC and individual money over the past 20 years, according to financial disclosure records.
If that doesn’t scream special interest I don’t know what does.
